#BoycottIsraeliDates — With Ramadan underway, we wish all those who observe a happy and blessed month ahead.
Many date brands sold in the U.S. are ‘israeli’-owned, profiting from and exploiting Palestinian and Islamic traditions, stolen land and Palestinian labor.
In order to evade boycotts, they are often disguised using labels such as: Jordan Valley, West Bank (settlements), or ‘produce of more than one country.’ Please be mindful of such devious marketing ploys and mechanisms.

Stolen Land
Palestine’s fertile land has been a center of agricultural life for centuries, known for delicious dates. Now these dates are grown by illegal settlers on stolen land, and in order to evade boycotts they are often disguised using labels such as: Jordan Valley, West Bank (settlements), or ‘produce of more than one country.’
Spread the Word
Share this information with friends, family, neighbors, local stores, and social media. It is our responsibility to make sure our community does not break fast with ethnic cleansing, as Muslims, as people with a conscience, and those who support Palestinian liberation.
Educate and Organize
If a grocer sells brands with an israeli label, ask to speak with someone about replacing these products. If they do not sell any, thank them and share the list anyway. If you want WOL to follow up with any stores, contact us at wol.palestine@gmail.com. It is crucial to remind one another to join the boycott, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
